Tailor Bouncy to work for you and your students

Traumatic stress flips a switch in the brain from a natural, ready-to-learn state to a threatened state. This is especially true for our youngest learners. To flip the switch back, kids need three things: safety, secure attachment, and social-emotional competencies.

Bouncy achieves all three of these things by using direct instruction, music, dance, games, self-reflection, and community-building exercises. Students learn to develop agency, self-regulation, and a growth mindset, resulting in strong, calm, self-confident learners who can soothe themselves when stressed and persist in learning.

Play with purpose

Bouncy’s program elements are ideally designed for play-based learning. They can be easily integrated into learning centers and group play activities, incorporating digital and physical components as you see fit. Better yet, kids can take the lead in playing with Bouncy to support their agency.

Develop a sense of security

Bouncy understands that distressed and disruptive behavior in children is often rooted in fear and/or stressors. Bouncy calms and comforts children first, and then provide skill training so they learn how to self-calm and self-regulate. Bouncy does this is a fun and playful way.

Target behavior

Every child reacts differently to events, challenges, and traumas they encounter. Bouncy works as a teacher’s assistant to help address some of the more serious issues, like bullying, teasing, roughhousing, anxiety, and detachment. Using Bouncy’s array of instructional elements, students learn to address these target areas.
