Character Education
Character Education outside the home is a controversial issue. In a diverse society, “good” character can mean different things to different people. However, there are some values, like tolerance and fairness, that are intrinsic to a democratic society, and are always appropriate to be taught in public programs.
Ripple Effects for Teens can be used in its entirety as a comprehensive character development curriculum, or parts of it can be used in a flexible program that can range from one day to several weeks. As with other subject areas, users are encouraged to tailor the program to be consistent with your community standards. The topics listed below are included in Ripple Effects for Teens, and are also available as a freestanding prevention software program called True to Your Core.
